Abstract

The formation of media in a religious framework is one of the major concerns of scholars in the field of media. On the one hand, as there are completely new dimensions and layers to them, the media constitute a complicated issue such that one cannot reach a favorable religious theory for the lawgiver with a superficial and normative mentality of religion. On the other hand, lack of a theological media theory causes all research in the field of media jurisprudence to turn superficial and personalized. It is therefore essential to scrutinize the theological principles of media for developing a favorable system of media jurisprudence.Considering that theological media theory is one of the essential topics of media jurisprudence, the present study aimed to develop one such theory by answering the question whether the media are one of the many dimensions of humanity and by explicating a theological media theory in three aspects: quiddity, methodology, and outline.
